Joseph LaBadia, MA, LMHC, NCC

Joseph LaBadia is the Founder and Program Director of Florida Counseling Practice. As a counselor, Joseph’s specialties include trauma focused therapy, anxiety, depression, and addictions. He has a wide range of approaches for treatment that will be tailored to each client based on their individual needs and treatment goals. The client always dictates counseling sessions.

Joseph’s depth of work includes five years of hospital and private practice experience. He has been associated with institutions such as New York University, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weil Cornell Medical College, The William Alanson White Institute and the Parnell Institute.

Joseph helps his clients learn and enhance their abilities to utilize their own strengths in order to overcome issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse, and daily or work related stress. He puts in a strong effort to connect with his clients and create a working alliance. The treatment he provides is a collaborative process where they will work together for positive changes.

Joseph is interested in learning about his clients, not just the problems they present to him. He uses an integrated dynamic approach to therapy informed by mindfulness, relaxation techniques, psychodynamics, motivational interviewing, EMDR and cognitive-type therapies. Empathy is a salient feature in his sessions.

Joseph's style is warm, interactive, and practical. He wants to help you see and build your strengths. His practice provides for adults and adolescents 14 and up. He meets with individuals, couples and groups. If this sounds like a fit for you, please reach out.
